Why Setting Small Goals Motivates Us to Accomplish Bigger Things 🌟

“Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that helps control the brain’s reward and pleasure centers. Dopamine also helps regulate movement and emotional response, and it enables us not only to see rewards, but to take action to move toward them.” – Psychology Today
I love to check things off my Weekly Brain Detox list in the Daily Action Planner. In fact, I love it so much that sometimes I finish a task and then write it down just so I can check it off!
It turns out that every time we write that checkmark or cross it off our list, Dopamine, dubbed “The Reward Molecule”, is released in our brains. And it's responsible for reward-driven behavior.
Dopamine increases when we are organized and finish tasks—small or big. Carrying our to-do lists in the brain causes stress, worry, and anxiety. Writing it down and checking it off brings pleasure, keeping us motivated and focused.
For the extra challenging tasks, I like to take one of the stickers in the back of the Daily Action Planner to get that extra hit of happiness. :)
Write it down, check it off, feel good!
